November 2006 marked the opening of South Africa’s first and only Ice Lounge in Cape Town, offering a truly unique venue for corporate and private functions. The Ice Lounge, invited visitors to step inside a subzero environment where everything was made of ice. A total of 65 tons of structural ice was used to create the walls, pillars, seating, bar and elegant sculptures.
The venue boasted a 9m zigzag ice bar with full bar service offering everything from glamorous cocktails to signature shooters that can be knocked back out of glasses made of ice.
Careful consideration of function needs was taken into account. The Ice Lounge offered a DJ set-up, effect lighting, plasma screens and projectors. Live Carvings on site were a regular feature with our Ice artists using chain saws and chisels to create impressive icy creations.
